Father of his paternal grandmother,Jameel Ahmad Khan, played a significant role in India's freedom movement. He confided in his wife, expressing his fervent desire to revolt against British rule and free the nation from their oppression. Concerned about the potential consequences for his wife, he proposed a divorce so she could pursue a peaceful life with another partner. Despite her initial refusal, he ultimately convinced her and proceeded with the divorce. By sacrificing his peaceful and comfortable domestic life, Jameel Ahmad Khan exemplified his dedication to the cause of freedom for his country.

He played a pivotal role in the "Quit India movement," passionately chanting slogans like "Do or Die" and actively fighting for India's freedom. Consequently, he was apprehended by the British authorities and incarcerated. Upon his arrest by the British army, he boldly declared, "I willingly accept imprisonment for the liberation of my country, but I refuse to be handcuffed. Instead, I shall ride a horse to the prison, for the tribulations endured in service of the nation are badges of honour." Ultimately, the British government yielded to his demand and provided a horse, and he was escorted to prison mounted on it. As he departed, he aimed to impart a message to the people of India: every sacrifice made and hardship endured in the quest for freedom is a noble act, encouraging more individuals to join the struggle for independence so that India may achieve liberation expeditiously.

On the 25th anniversary of India’s independence, August 15, 1972, the then Prime Minister of India acknowledged his service to the nation's liberation from the grip of British rule and honoured him with a plaque and certificate of appreciation, commending his invaluable contributions. Jameel Ahmad Khan passed away in 1975, leaving behind a legacy of fervent dedication to serving the country and its people.

On the momentous occasion of the 50th anniversary of India’s independence, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh extended a heartfelt tribute to Jameel Ahmad Khan by honouring a member of his family in Lucknow. This gesture was in recognition of Jameel Ahmad Khan's sacrifices and services, further underscored by the presentation of a distinguished certificate of appreciation.

In 2008, as a symbol of tribute the government erected a majestic gate at the village's primary entrance, which proudly showcased his name in bold, a timeless emblem of honour and remembrance.

On the 75th anniversary of independence, District officers of Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh,  visited his house on August 15, 2022. They brought a certificate of appreciation and some sweets. Later that year, tehsil officials made a family tree of the Freedom Fighter's descendants and registered it officially. In 2023, on August 15 again, senior officers visited their house and planted a tree in memory of the Freedom Fighter, Jamil Ahmed Khan, in a prominent spot in the village.
